About the Event

Join in on this 6-part webinar series as our instructor Paul Martin explores common natural disasters that canine handlers may be tasked to respond to with their canine partners. We will explore earthquakes and the differences produced by different fault lines such as the Cascadia Subduction Zone, the New Madrid, and the San Andreas. Paul will look at flooding and why flash floods often leave a deadly path of destruction. These and other natural disasters will be explored weekly during the webinar series, in a way that participants can understand the science and the impact that each one has.

Paul is regarded primarily as an anthropologist and forensic archaeologist, but also has completed all course work towards his PhD in Earth Sciences at the University of Memphis. Paul also taught courses on the college level that looked at how natural disasters impacted individuals and society.
